Emzoclox is a broad spectrum antibiotic formulation of Ampicillin and penicillinase stable Cloxacillin. Emzoclox exhibits bactericidal activity against a wide range of gram-positive, organisms such as Staphylococci (including penicillinase producing strains), Streptococci (S. pneumoniae), Clostridia species, Bacillus anthracis and most strains of Enterococcus and Gram-negative organisms such as H. influenzae, Brucella melitensis and Brucella abortus. Proteus mirabilis, Salmonella, Shigella, Escherichia coli and Neisseria species.
Indications:
Respiratory tract infections, Ears, Nose and Throat infections, Urinary tract infections, Gastro-intestinal infections, Skin and Soft Tissue infections, Pelvic infections, Septicaemia, Endocarditis, Orthopaedic infections.
Direction for use:
To be administerd ½ - 1 hour before meals.
Age Dosage
Children (= 2 years) 2.5 mL every 6 hours
Children (2-6 years) 5 mL every 6 hours
Children (6-12 years) 5-10 mL every 6 hours
Or as directed by your physician
Adults 1-2 capsules every 6 hours
Or as directed by the physician
Caution:
No known interactions with ampicillin-cloxacillin that is considered serious. However, consult with your pharmacist or doctor if you are taking any other medication.
